The Marlet House

As you can see from the picture of the photo etched brass to the right, the Marlet House kit contained a lot of pieces, some very small. As usual, my big hands didn't get along well with the small Z scale pieces.  However, I did manage to get everything together.

I painted the large pieces before assembly. Most of the small pieces, like the steps and railings, got painted as I got ready for them.

The only real problem that I had with this kit was with the porch and stair railings.  The railings had tiny studs to fit into holes in the porch and stairs. Painting the stairs and porch pretty much filled in these holes and I didn't have a tool to get the paint out.  So I cut off the studs and simply glued the bottom of the railings to the porch and stairs.  This is hardly noticeable in Z-scale.
