Train Station Kit # 1010

The Z scale Train Station consists of a photo-etched brass train station in the 6.75x5.5-inch sheet.  There is also a sheet of clear plastic for window glazing.

I've begun painting with enamel paints prior to assembly in the image shown

to the right.

Painting before assembly went fairly well for this kit. The only problem was the one characteritic of all Z scale kits - things are very small, so a neat painting job takes a steadier hand than mine.  The magnifier headset and a fine brush helps with some of the small pieces.

One problem involved the passenger benches which must be glued to the platform. The legs on each are so small that is difficult to get them to stand up. So gluing them down is a bit messy - I had to put glue on the bottom of the legs, lay the bench on its back in the proper location, then set it up. This turned out to be more difficult than it ought to be.
