Repainting the Casey Jones

After finishing the Tucson & El Dorado I decided redo the Casey Jones.
If I put two tracks in the Old West layout, as I did in the Winter layout, I could use a second train, the Tanque Verde Railroad.

Since the cars were already a light color it was not necessary to repaint them completely. I decided to paint out the "Illinois Central" text on the cars with a band of copper and to make copper trim the theme of the Tanque Verde Rail Road.

As with the Tucson & El Dorado Railroad, I created the decal with WordPerfect X4. The "TVRR" text was created with 6 pt Cuckoo font and the "Tanque Verde" text with 10 pt Figaro MT font. I printed the text onto Evans Designs InkJet Water-Slide Decal Paper with Janet's Hewlett Packard Deskjet 3915 set to Maximum dpi (4800x1200-optimized dpi). I applied the decals to the engine and cars as described in the
Water-Slide Decals page of my Special Layout Information section.

The picture below shows the repainted train with its new decals.
